Fixed the fuel tank again. this time the fuel line came disconnected from the top of the tank and was spewing gass all over the place. At this rate i can take a tank out (including skid) and put it back in in less than an hour

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Not really today, but in the past 2 days I've: started wire brushing my sliders for paint, changed the oil/filter, Seafoamed the intake, cleaned the K&N, swapped to my trail slicks, rewired the EVAP Purge valve harness from the valve to the main body harness behind the rear passenger tire, found out that the EVAP Vaccum cut valve run on the same harness, rewired the Cut Valve harness into the new EVAP Purge Valve Harness, and gave serious consideration to ordering new plastic bits for either side of my mangled rear bumper... Take THAT lethargy.
I can wire anything directly into anything... I'm the PROFESSOR

Here is the new paint / detailing - the stripes go really well with mud. Had fun out back (private property) - no trails, wildlife, habitat etc. was affected and made a couple of nice berms on our mountain biking loop. Need to retrim the front wheel covers for the hubs as the spacers pushed them out. Looks kinda porky, though the factory guards still cover the tires.

I installed my xoskel bumper mouth bracket, and ran some of the wiring for the PIAA 530 LEDS I picked up today. Wanted 4, could only afford 2, at least until I see if they actually give off decent light. Hope to get it finished tomorrow.

That looks good man, did you do it yourself or have it done? There is one on highway 6 that sorta looks like that, I'm always jealous.danxe wrote:Here is the new paint / detailing - the stripes go really well with mud. Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Changed both diff fluids, transfer case and tranny fluid out for some fresh stuff. Everything went better than last time in terms of keeping the mess down. TIP FOR 6 SPEED OWNERS--I didnt do this last time, but I swore id find a better way next time. Remove cup holders and plastic around shift knob (just pull up for cup holders and up and towards the back for the other piece) remove the weather gasket anrond the shifter under that 5-6 10mm bolts. You can now grab some hose and run it into the side of the tranny while filling from the drivers seat. Well worth the five minuts taking this apart then trying to fart with a pump or trying to pour it in sideways.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
This rear busing is becoming my nemisis...
Broke the bolt I was using as a press, so I upgraded to custom made c-clamp tools, broke both of those, Almost seems like you need a shop press to install them, but the part is welded onto the frame, so you have to do it on the truck... Considering giving up and just ordering the 2 piece polyurathane bushings from AC.
On the plus side, the passenger side is back together!

Removed my air filter an found it to be a bit rusty. Yes, I said rusty.
The reason I was digging into my airbox, was because the truck was sputtering and what not under load. The only code in the ecu was for the MAF, so that's where I started my diagnostic.
I actually pulled the MAF out first, before the filter, and my first thoughts when it came out was "what the heck, it looks wet???"
That made me want to tear more things apart. When I opened the airbox up, the filter was soaked, and I found this:
Apparently there was water in my airbox! The wet MAF explains the code, and all the ****ing water explains the sputtering.
Apparently the snorkel was letting water in, through the top I suspect, and it didn't star affecting drivability until the filter got saturated enough to begin letting water past it. I wasn't enough to do any damage I don't think, but it was enough to give me a scare...
Anyways, my MAF has been doused in cleaner, and I will be picking up a new filter tomorrow so that I can take the truck for a spin and see if my problem is gone...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Damn, maybe put a plastic bag over the snorkel while the truck is sitting?
I have a spare k&n if you want one sometime.
Today, I spent most of the day with a bissel carpet machine cleaning my carpet. The water I dumped out of the machine looked like expired chocolate milk.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
When i had my snorkel on the pathy, I installed a drain on the air box just in case some water got in there. Left the drain open while driving normally, but closed it when wheeling. Never had any problems.
