Rear Shock Install
I was going to install some Rancho 9000XLs today but, these have a adjusting knob on them for softer or firmer.I thought you would install them with the boots on top,but then the adjusting knob is on the bottom, prone to hitting a rock etc. Can I turn them around?

Re: Rear Shock Install
I don't think i ever hit the adjustors on the shocks ever? If they are in good shape i wouldn't worry about it at all.
By the way, I found the softer setting to be best all around.

You shouldn't turn them around, as they won't work right. Some folks have hit the adjustment knob before, but it's not the end of the world. Usually you set them, and leave them alone.

Re: Rear Shock Install
Never hit knobs on mine 9000s over three years I have them on, the knobs are on the bottom, just make sure they are facing upward, that way it's unlikely they'll get hit.

Re: Rear Shock Install
I've had mine on since 2005 and never hit the knob on anything. Don't worry about it.
