Re: Checking in from Ottawa
Sorry mang, have never dealt with them, but I believe the rumour was decent. My warranty has pretty much completely expired now so haven't paid much attention. Although i suspect with your new ride you should be in good shape. I think maybe Jayman has dealt with them, but I could be confused.Relic wrote:Hey Holiday, I bought my truck at Smith's Falls Nissan...do you know how their warranty work is?HolidayNation wrote:

Re: Checking in from Ottawa
I was NOT impressed with Smiths Falls Nissan when it came to working on my truck. I bought mine there as well, and within a week I had to drive back there to get them to fix stuff that they should have taken care of in the first place.
I had a broken shock on the passenger side rear, sold to me that way. They also had to replace the upper control arm bushings on the driver's side as well.
When I took it back to them to get the work done, I asked them whether they would be replacing both shocks in the rear, as you would normally do, and they said no, there was nothing wrong with the other side, so it would stay. They fixed the UCA bushings without any problems, but after dealing with them the one time, I was not interested in going back. When I bought my truck, I also noticed that me Super charger sounded very noisy, but was told that there was nothing wrong with it by the idiots at Smiths Falls. I had a friend here in Ottawa with a 2003 SC's X, and compared the two trucks side by side. His was super quiet, mine you could actually hear the fins of the SC bumping up against each other because the bearings were shot. I called Smiths Falls again, no love. They basically told me to go screw myself. They had my money for the sale, and weren't interested in dealing with any of the problems I was having, so I would not recommend them at ALL for any kind of service.
Here in Ottawa, I have taken my truck into 417 Nissan as well as Tony Graham to get work done. I went into 417 for an oil change, and came out with a new supercharger. Interesting... When the tech brought it into the shop to do the oil change, the mechanics could hear the SC rattling without even having to lift the hood. They called me up and asked if it was alright to keep the truck for the day instead of the hour they had originally told me, and replaced the SC under warranty, without me even asking for it.
I took my PIG into Tony Graham to deal with a fuel Evap cannister issue, and although they are a little expensive, the service was good there as well. Sgt_B on the board here has had to have some MAJOR warranty work done there, and they were the only dealership that would even look at his truck, so a thumbs up to them so far.
My truck is LONG past warranty by now of course, so none of the stuff that I have had done aside from the SC was under warranty. I had my timing belt done a month and a half ago at 417, and was pleased with the work. Only complaint I had was that my front licence place was bent all to heck from the mechanic having to lean over the front of the truck so much. I guess my winch and fairlead got in his way! Hehehe!

Re: Checking in from Ottawa
Thanks Jayman, good post. Tony Graham is a 15 minute drive for me so if anything goes wrong i will deal with them 1st. I can only hope the receptionist's little blemish problem clears up by then.
I went through the warranty thread on clubfrontier and noticed alot of the same stuff breaking. It makes me wonder if it is just pure abuse or fragility or a bit of both. I've always been a slow precise off-roader unless it was in my omni lol.

Re: Checking in from Ottawa
Mine is a KingCab, they only come with 6 foot box. The CrewCab comes with 5 or 6 foot bed. The Kingcab is considered the regular cab now, and I'll bet anyone who has to sit in back would agree.nige wrote:nice truck. can you still get frontiers in regular cab short wheelbase?
