Re: Checking out Shoelace Creek
If you guys can pick a date I'll post up an Event thread and sign-up sheet for you. Just let me know when you want to do this run.
How does October 18th or the 25th sound to any of you?
I highly recommend that those going have a full set of after-market skid plates and sliders as this trail has a lot of rocks.

Re: Checking out Shoelace Creek
i made it through with no skids, but you are taking a chance doing so. Since my torsion bar anchors were hanging down too low, a rock "tucked them back in" for me

Re: Checking out Shoelace Creek
I wouldn't suggest going in without skids and rockers. Just me, maybe. But when we did it on AW, I think I had the biggest truck in the fleet, and I hit lots of stuff. But maybe it was my crappy driving . Mind you - everyone had that hard sound of steel on rock.
There are a few spots where skids are needed. Don't take the risk; it's late in the year, it gets dark early, it gets cold. If you break something on the trail 'cause you hit a rock when you should of had skids but you thought you'd be OK, and somebody has to drag you out for 8 hours... You'll feel like a shmuck. It's simply not worth it.
Just my sheckel or two.

Re: Checking out Shoelace Creek
When we went in @ Adventure weekend, the top end of the trail was completely different than last year. I bashed one of my skids really hard in one mudhole. I would suggest skids, especially if you are new(er) to wheeling.nige wrote:i made it through with no skids, but you are taking a chance doing so. When is Thanksgiving? I'm supposed to be in Windsor at the in-laws...
I'd be leaning more towards the 18th or 25th, myself.
