P0011 and P0022 on 3.5 Pathy
Hi,
I have just purchased a 2002 Pathfinder SE, 5-speed, 3.5L. Two codes came up today as I was doing 80 mph uphill: P0011 and P0022.
I have read the forums about possible causes, such as camshaft position sensors, timing solenoid???, low oil level, dirty oil. Oil level is good and it is clean. What other possible causes it might be? The mechanic suggests resetting the CEL and see if it comes back on. But I don't think that really solves the problem.
Also, does anyone do the powervalve screws fix? I have called a few Nissan dealers in Los Angeles and they have not heard of powervalve screws failures. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Congrats on the purchase.
Here is my write-up on the power valve screws I did 9 years ago. You can likely do it yourself. In my write up I removed the lower intake but if you're careful you don't need to do that.

Wait a minute - you have a 5 speed? I am fairly certain manual trans did not come with the power valves. Double check that, but I think you might be in the clear there.

Thanks, Ron.
I have come across your very-detailed, write-up last week on several internet forums.
Another guy on NPORA told me the same thing, that the 5-speed has no powervalve screws. But I am under the impression it is more of an engine thing regardless of 5-speed/auto. Any thoughts?
Its a 2002 with 180,000 miles (288,000 km), which lived in Virginia for the most part. A little rust on the nuts and bolts and brackets, but not on the chassis. Hopefully its as trouble free as the 3.3 Pathy. Haha

I never verified it to be honest, but found a few references to being an automatic thing only. Perhaps Morpheus can confirm.
I did mine at 11k km and sold it at 217k and never had any issues.
