Hey gang,

I am glad I found this site. Just picked up the second pathfinder in my life. The first one was a 88 that took an absolute beating until my dad and his drinking buddy replicated a dukes of hazzard jump into a pond(if only I had a gopro back then).

We just picked up a 99.5 LE. The thing is a beauty but I am trying to sort out some electrical problems. When we first got it, it ran fine but the power windows, locks, sunroof, and heated seats did not work. Now that I have been digging around in harness's it has stopped working all together. It went from running, to cranking with no fuel, to relays clicking just from taking the M1-E1 harness apart and putting it back together.

Anyone who is a guru and in the Okanagan is welcome to come and have some beer with me if they may know what is going on.

Cheers

Mark

Welcome, and good luck with the Pathy. Other than luck there isn't much I can offer you.

I would start with the battery - I'm guessing, but clicking relays and multiple failures could be the result of low, or incorrect voltage. And I don't mean the kind of voltage of "but it reads fine with my volt meter..." Getting the terminals clean, and checking the grounds from the battery is the first step. Then run out from there. Is the fuse box clean? Has it been raining a lot and stuff is wet. Where does the power seem to get to well, and then it turns bad...

Like I said, I'm guessing. Tough to do anything from 4000kms away.

If you took a main block connector apart and lost all that, i would bet either some of the pins bent over when putting it back together, or they could have pushed out of the connector instead of making contact.
Go back there and check, and as scotto says, make sure all your battery connections are good and the battery is charged up.
