My Truck got hit on.

Post by ironman »

So I go to home depot today, to do the classic fixing the kitchen sink thing and when I can back out to my truck there's a note on the windshield.

YOUR TRUCK LOOKS VERY NICE
NICE SHOES. PLEASE CALL ME AND LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE SUSPENSION LIFT and a number.

Now this was kind of funny and made me smile and then I thought have any of you people had this happen to you?

Just another day.

Next time tell your truck to act all aloof and say "whatever" a lot.

I've never had that happen to me, though, I have had thumbs up and people waving as I drove by.

I haven't had cards left...except for distubing ones left by northernfeller...but more often then not on a day that I'm down or stressed someone will stop...or yell across the road...a compliment about the truck.

Question is was the handwriting feminin?

I have never received a note either, but also get comments. Oddly mostly from older women

The best one for me was also at the Home Depot, it was a simple "Nice truck"... and from a guy. I only thought it was good because after a couple of questions and taking a quick look around the Fronty he got into his newer Taco that was parked beside me (wasn't there when I came in) and drove away. I didn't know that was his truck until he unlocked it.

I am also wondering.

I've gotten a few people asking me where I got my bumper from and telling me its a nice truck. Only note that was ever put on mine was some treehugging group that was against people driving suvs.

I got a note once in the princess auto parking lot with an email address on it asking where he could get the same stuff I did. I emailed him our forum webaddress and never heard from him... must have been scared by the ass-hat-isims...

I get the nod often enough, and quite a few people stare at the truck as I drive by, but I've never had a note left on my truck.

While waiting for a red light to change, I've had people ask me to roll down my window to ask me what the heck my snorkel is... That and comments about the Airplane tickler antenna that I have as well.

The only odd one that I have had is a guy that stopped me in a parking lot to ask me about all the mods that I have on the truck, and then where I got them, how much it cost etc etc. It actually put me on edge, because it almost felt like my vehicle was being cased by the guy, as if he was getting ready to try and steal it.

Weird - People just point and laugh at the bungee cable holding the passenger side of the front fascia on. LOL

Last year after shopping at CT I was sitting in my X having hot dog, one guy comes and starts walking around and finally he stuffs his head into front wheel well, WTF? I squeaked my horn (yup, that's how my horn sounded) guy jumped out surprised and says "I didn't know you're here" and then he starts asking questions how, where from and how much. Turned out he just sold his Samurai and was looking to buy something bigger and X just caught his eye. That was kinda funny... oh, and only notes I found on my windshield were parking tickets :fist:

When we fit all our equipment to the Jeeps we get questions all the time, but not so much through Ontario, usually more when we are in the US or other Provinces.

I don't get many questions generally because I keep the majority of the equipment removed when we're not travelling, I don't need things like roof racks and fuel / water cans and limb lifters and such when I'm just commuting around or going for a day trip.

We've found though through Ontario, most people generally have kept to themselves about our setups, but down in the US, especially through the Montana, Colorado and Utah areas, people are very curious and openly conversational and very friendly to.

Just a different experience.

Sorta. Wheeling buddy of mine up here in Sudbury didn't realize we work on the same property (it's massive) on an almost daily basis. He hadn't seen my truck yet at this point but we'd been out for coffees many times so I suppose I assumed he knew what I wheeled. He left a note on my truck one day which said:
"Hi, do you use your Swampers? If so sign up with Sudbury Jeep club and come wheeling."
