Newb Tire Question - Stock R50

Post by Miner »

Okay so we might be looking at a stock 1997 R50 tonight as a winter driver. Only thing I know at this point is it needs tires, so the newb (to R50) question comes out, "What is the biggest tire I can fit under a stock R50?"

Realistically I only want to fit a 31x10.5R15 and I think that is possible, and was confirmed in a Google search.

Any input...on topic input...is welcome.

I even tried a search here before asking. There are so many hits for tire that it omits the word.

Scanned the thread, it looks like it's possible. Might have to trim a little rust off.

If you're looking for a good 31" tire for winter use, the Goodyear Wrangler Territory (CT only) and the good year wrangler Dura-trac are excellent tires.

FWIW stock X tires just fit on our R50, I think they are close to 31s...
