No letter for me, but Mike and the boys did the recall for me while my truck was in there last week.

Re: New recall - steering
So I got my letter in the mail today. I think it came last week, but I hadn't checked my mail box in a week, so...
Anyways, now that a few of these have been taken care of, I'm curious still about how some of the more modified rigs are being treated?
Worse come to worse, I will just take my truck in and see what they have to say. I'm still concerned about the fact that I have a body lift on my truck.
Mike, you guys have taken care of a few of these now, right? Thoughts?

Haven't done a lifted one yet... Mine will be the first, as soon as I can find some shop time.

Re: New recall - steering
I have a question, I am not the original owner of my X and did not purchase it through Nissan how will I know if mine is part of the recall?

Re: New recall - steering
Well, this one is a brand new recall, so unless you purchased your truck within the last 3 months or so, it likely hasn't been done.x-fisher wrote:I have a question, I am not the original owner of my X and did not purchase it through Nissan how will I know if mine is part of the recall?
You can also call your local dealership and have them verify your VIN to see what recall work has been completed.

Re: New recall - steering
Thanks Jayman, I called in December and they said there were no outstanding recalls but I will call again, is there any way to get on the Nissan mailing list?

Re: New recall - steering
Yeah - a whole bunch of ways. Best way is to fill out the damn form they give you when you go into the shop. Be forewarned - this means sales guys will call you, stuff will come in the mail - at least for a while. Then they seem to settle down. Guelph Nissan called me every three weeks or so a couple years back simply because I bought some parts... It was quite disheartening having to tell the sales guy over and over that I had no interest in selling the truck...

Thanks Geoffrey, I have not been to a Nissan dealer for service so I will look into that.

Re: New recall - steering
I talked to a dealer yesterday and they confirmed I mine was under recall but said the part is on back order and asked me to call back in a week or two.

Re: New recall - steering
I've got 6 instock.
No issues with the lift, did mine no problem.
The only spot that may cause issues, is if you've done some kind of custom gap guard.

Re: New recall - steering
I would just look at the steering column and look for the shiny part.... That should let you know what they did.the x kid wrote:Done in 45 min. Anybody have a diagram of the part they could post. Just curious.
