Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Ended up dropping it off at a shop to do. They did the full swap, all my brake lines and alignment all at the same time.

How was it cost wise? Was there anything not so straight forward?

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
It wasn't too bad considering they did the alignment too. Saved me having to book an appointment and then drive it around to get done. The only issue were the LCA bolts were seized inside the sleeves and had to be cut out. I did spray everything down a couple of times prior to dropping it off though.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Was getting an "antennae warning" from the Cobra CB display. Interwebs said to ignore it, that it was an overly-sensitive sensor. So last night I swapped out the main cable - the old one, it turns out, had some wear and tear. Not too surprising, really. And now no more warning about the antennae.
Also just the normal "tighten this, lube that, stop that from rattling" stuff. Truck seems fine. Keeps running strong.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Had an oil leak from behind the timing belt cover likely due to dried out seals since the truck wasn't started or driven for a few years. The leak stopped as sudden as it appeared as the oil seal must have re-hydrated, but thought I should do the timing belt as history is unknown, and it had an oil bath.
Did the timing belt, idler pulley/ spring, thermostat, water pump, crank oil seal (a PITA; left cams alone as they were dry), rad hoses, and threw in a the larger rad from a supercharged model while I was at it. The rad, hoses, clamp and thermostat came with the truck, so those were freebies.
Good for a few more miles

Put new rotors and pads on and swapped out the winter tires for the summer rubber on my wife's rig. Since it is a GM I bought all premium AC Delco parts and boy do they ever fit/work nice compared to generic stuff.

Started swapping rubber winter for summer. Two vehicles down, two tonight, and one parked until we pickup a summer set for it. The joys of the fleet maintenance plan.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
started installing my new head unit doesn't quite fit right just yet so I'll have to play with it a bit more to get it to fit nice but so far it seems like a pretty simple unit with ease of operation

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Diff breather and removed rear sway bar. Actually drives better minus a slight lean in the rear when cornering (obviously). Bumps don't cause the truck to bounce around as much.
Took the truck in to the Dealership because those in channel wind deflectors were causing my windows to shriek. They said they were re-ordering new rubber trim and such. Hopefully it will do the trick. Was nice to have windows that close quickly and silently again though haha!

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
A little light polishing on the rims to bring back that show quality finish
That's the grinder dust after 2 rims btw.
Then on to prepping the new rubber for the stauns
All this is to mount these

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Yesterday morning was a recovery of a GMC 1500 that got himself stuck trying to get closer to recover his ATV that he swamped hours earlier. To find him we took a few wrong trails, one being the snowmobile/ATV trail, which was deep and muddy. The MTR's definitely handled them like the tires that I love and waited a year to get.
The only issues was the rubbing that I'm trying to deal with of the 33's, and my drivers locking hub is shot. I needed a pull reversing cause it wouldn't lock, and going forward it worked for the most part.
We took the truck to my girlfriend's friends sugar bush. We're glad we did, cause the GPS (mis)lead up down an unmaintained road to turn on a road that really didn't exist; was more of a trail. We had some tracks to follow, a downed tree to drive over, and some parts that were completely snow covered, and the MTR's aren't the best snow tires. I put it in 4x4 to keep it stable and avoid sliding into the ditch, but the locking hub acted up here and there and worried be a bit.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
O2 Sensor 1 Bank 1 was throwing a code so I swapped it to the Sensor 2 position to diagnose if it was truly a sensor fault or a harness failure. In the Sensor 2 Bank 1 position it threw 2 codes and 2 derates. Swapped it back to Sensor 1. Love having to fix a "new" truck.

Pulled it out of the garage, hooked up the tow strap, pulled 4 trees and a fence post out, put it back.

Did a bit more work on mounting the tires.
Broke out the high end Milwaukee milling machine to modify the valve stem pocket so I could install the new bolt in metal valve stems.
Mounted the first of the stauns
Got one tire fully assembled with the bead lock and one just on so I could check if the valve holds air (it didn't when I tried this last fall.
Now I just need to break down the spare and the one I previously assembled for testing and then put 4 more together.... I should have paid someone...
