New truck to me
Well for those that don't know Feb 16 I wrote off my truck, was during the snow/ice/rain that we got that morning on the way into work dog darted in front of me I headed for the ditch and just caught the passenger corner on a tree. Bumper, grill, front fender, hood and light assembly were a mess and because of its age the insurance company decided to write it off instead of fixing it. So I have spent the past two weeks looking at vehicles. I decided I wanted a pickup bed just because with working on the farm dirty work clothes in the cabin just stunk up the entire truck. Did not want to go into debt over a new vehicle so was working with limited funding, I missed a real sweet deal on a 2009 Nissan Frontier that came with a utility topper would have made a fantastic overland type vehicle. but was just a little slow on the yes. I ended up picking up a 2003 Ford yes I said Ford sport trac at a great price and will see what we can do with it. Torsion bars up front so can get a couple inches of lift there easy enough and leafs in the rear so either shackles or and add a leaf for a couple of inches there. 265/75r16 will fit stock so I maybe able to get 33's on it with those simple mods, the truck has 410 gears and the 4.0l motor so it should do ok. I might actually have to find time to get out wheeling with some of you this year again.

Congrats. Sounds like a plan. The Frontier could have been good. Nice to hear someone say overland also.

That is one of the photos of the frontier, like I said with that setup it would have been fantastic to setup for overlanding. Canoe would have gone up top on the rack and everything.

Why is that? Now I'm confused. Not that that's hard to do.

Sadly no I did not buy the Frontier as it was gone by the time I called about it which was less than an hour after the add went up. I ended up buying a 2003 Sport Track just because I got it at a great price and for it's entire life only had the original owner which for me was a big plus as I was able to get the history on what had already been done

I see a clean lifted Sport Trac almost daily. It's got a good stance and presence with the right suspension, wheel and tire. Definitely a recognizable vehicle.
