Picked up my rig from the paint shop. Noticed it had some paint peeling on the bottom corner at the drivers door window. While it was off I had new door pins/bushing put in. Soon much nicer to close now.
Are you painting it every year now? :P
Apparently!!! It seems like it. I did minor rust repair twice to rockers (with rocker guard), cowl hood and grille, and now the door. 2 fenders, a door, and a roof to go! :teeth:

Gotta stay on top of that rust. It will take over if you let it.

Found some rust on the DD the other day. I figure I can sandblast and spray bomb, as its on the rear door openings, not on the exterior painted panels.

Last night went on one last Jeep rescue mission with the Titan. Towing a TJ home felt like old times.

Replaced the Titan today, picking up the used Cummins 6.7l after work. Excited and sad, I'll still have the Titan for a little longer so I have time to get used to seeing it go.

Over the last week:

- Titan: moved my junk out, windshield replaced, cleaned and prepped for the next owner.

- 2500: tire pressure corrected (dealer inflated D rated tires to E specs), speedometer calibrated, tonneau cover installed, air filter cleaned and airbox secured, low beam bulbs replaced, and headlights correctly aimed.

- Nytro: oil changed, bearings and suspension greased, clutches cleaned, skid plate installed...snow melted...

Installed a Rugged Rocks alternator. Mine was on the way out so figured I would upgrade.

Worked on my tires carrier this weekend. Progressing well I`d like to say since I`m making, measuring and adjusting as I go

It`s maybe 75%-80% there, not including paint. I need to get the right hardware to take out the slack it he movement, and get a spring loaded pin to hold it in the up position, but so far I`m pleased with it.

TMR has some nice spring loaded pin handles. Worth looking into.

I've been up in Puvirnituq for almost 2 weeks and finally coming home on Saturday (hopefully), but it seems that the girlfriend's car broke down, her rear wheel seized and popped the tire. She brought it into a mechanic across the street from our place (which my uncle had mentioned a week prior that he was good) and he pretty much suggested she get a new car. It's a 2008 Dodge Avenger with 197'000kms on the clock. 3 of the 4 shocks are done (which we knew), but needs a bunch of other work. Front pads are gone, one unglued (which would explain the vibration we sensed a few days before I left), so whole new front brakes, and a front wheel bearing and tie rod. Axle shaft seals are leaking and need to be replaced, and rear brakes need to be done too. I need to find out what happened in the rear on what was causing the vibrations and it to lock up. It's also losing oil, probably burning it, which we knew, and gets black fast. I'm not a fan of Dodges at all, but she just finished paying off the car a few months ago and she really likes her car. I'll get some prices to see the total damage, but I'll probably take it off the road for a few weeks and give it an overhaul on all it needs. So that means I'll be putting all of my projects to the side in the meantime, sadly.

And I'm away and of course and they get hit with a HUGE snowstorm.

That sucks. I had a dodge avenger as a loaner car once. It was brand new. I hated driving it. No power and it was very boring. Plus the trim was poorly designed so the trim around the shifter somehow reflected the sun into your eyes.

Hopefully you can string it along until she wants to buy another car!

Changed the Power Steering pump (again) and replaced the fan clutch (finally) that went during AW. Nothing went right, especially when the banjo bolt decided to seize in the pump. Very, very fortunately, I had the spare from the Frontier.

Let us know how it goes long term. I had an older blackvue and after a year or two the lense went all hazy. Happened to 2 other guys at work who bought them.

If it messes up I will definitely mention it. I heard the older models were also prone to overheating but they have since fixed these issues. I have a one year warranty with it.
