I'll post some pictures this weekend. I got 4, figured the size difference between the 265 and 285 wasn't a big deal. I'll get a matching spare in the future though. From what I hear, a 33 would fit in the same location, even with a hitch.

General Grabber AT2s are common enough tires that you should be able to pick one up used to stash under your truck to (probably) never use.
As for the size of your current spare, if you have to use it, the computer might object and deprive you all the nannies, but I don't see it being worse than that for a short drive to help.

Re: Noobie from Ontario
That's what I was thinking. The only real difference is weight (and a bit of size) so it shouldn't be too bad if it came down to requiring my spare.Xtrapol8 wrote:General Grabber AT2s are common enough tires that you should be able to pick one up used to stash under your truck to (probably) never use.

Re: Noobie from Ontario
You can run a different size as a spare in a pinch, but never run in 4wheel drive with a different size or you risk damaging the transfer case.

Re: Noobie from Ontario
I know, but I don't think an album can be linked that way I did that on purpose so you could see em all.
Now that I think of it, I could've just linked all three separately lol.
There was rubbing while turning, but I did the melt mod and it's perfect now.

Re: Noobie from Ontario
LOL...in chrome a right click (most times) lets you chose to open the pic in a separate tab and gives you (usually) the url needed for the pic.
Can you post a pic of the melt mod? I would be interested in seeing how it was done.

Re: Noobie from Ontario
Where to melt. Back side of the front wheel wells.
Turn your tire so it's at full turn.
Cover the tire with something (cardboard/blanket/etc)
Heat via Flamethrower or Heat Gun
Push plastic with something (I used a hammer) Don't push too hard 'cause the soft plastic will tear or break.
Pre Melt-Mod (Sorry, imgur rotated the photo for some reason.
You can see the small lip where the tire rubs while turning.
Post Melt-Mod
Kind of hard to see with the tire rotated, but there's lots of room in there for the tire now
Sorry for my sub-par explanation and photography skills lol.
