Re: Welcome -- How did you find us??
Hi All:
I found the CNTC on the net while searching for parts.
I'm relatively new to overlanding and have begun the long slow process of "improving" my 2008 Xterra S. To date it has mostly been camping equipment and I've just purcheased a winch mount from RockyMtnX and a warn 8000. Next mod is suspension and I'm trying to source Old Man Emu parts in Canada that are reasonably priced. As I'm more of an overlander than rock crawler, my objective is 1.5" lift but with increased reach. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Tony
PS Quipack no longer caries ARB.

Welcome. Where is Stanbridge East?
Check out Rugged Rocks. They are in the US but shipping was pretty decent.
Increased reach as in travel? If so then that would be a suspension lift. Shackles and something for the coilovers.

Re: Welcome -- How did you find us??
Thanks Snafu -
Stanbridge East is in the Eastern Townships near the US border. Lots of great class IV roads in the National Forests just south of of here. Last summer we completed the Trans Labrador portion of the TCAT and plan to do northern Quebec and part of Ontario this year. As the going is a little rougher, suspension lift is going to me key.
Rugged rocks seems best deal, but exchange rate makes the medium duty kit (coils, dakar springs, struts, greaseable shackles, Ubolts, etc) around $1600 CDN excluding tax/duty. Was hoping to find CDN suppiler that can import directly from Australia and get closer to the $1,100 they would have cost me last summer. And yes I meant travel...
Thanks for the tip

Re: Welcome -- How did you find us??
You could also check out PRG and have it shipped to a holding place on the US side of the boarder then shipping is really cheap.

Re: Welcome -- How did you find us??
Greetings,
I spoke to a gentleman today at the Starbucks in Orangeville who said he goes by the handle 'Snafu' (not sure of the spelling) who gave me a card for CNTC. I have a 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser (I also belong to SONNT but have not been active lately). He assured me I wouldn't get too much of a ribbing for not being a Nissan guy I'm newer to the Orangeville area and was happy to meet someone locally who is into wheeling. Didn't do any this year due to changes in personal circumstances but will be rejoining OF4WD in '16 and wouldn't mind seeing what you guys are up to here - if you can stand a Toyota in your midst!!
Regards,
Mike

Welcome MKA!
No pressure about driving a yota. Lots of folks here drive Jeeps, Chevys, etc. Regardless of what you drive, you're welcome to come out to CNTC events. Unfortunately you JUST missed Adventure Weekend this year. Hopefully you can come out to it in 2016!

Welcome. First correction, snafu is no gentleman. (J/k buddy!).
Happy to have you aboard. We have members from Cambridge to Toronto to Alliston near you as well as members from Windsor to Ottawa, up north and beyond. Hope you enjoy your stay here. Feel free to post an introduction thread with pics of your rig.

Re: Welcome -- How did you find us??
Hi MKA! It was good to chat yesterday. Glad you came by to say Hi. I liked the FJ.
The meets will come. There are a couple this week but mainly to meet a member who moved away.
And yes, the gentleman thing is just a visious rumour

Re: Welcome -- How did you find us??
A good friend of mine has been in a car club for years, says its always a good time with tons of useful information.
So naturally when I decided to purchase my second Nissan, I decided to search around for some people who had the same interests.
I just dug a little online and found you guys. Of course there are others but this forum looked fun.

They may have taken the old clowns down bit they let this one in
I found this place through Mike so you can all blame him. He invited me to AW and I figured I should sign up and possibly have some idea what I was getting myself into. I don't regret it so that's a good start right?
