Last night diagnoses rear suspension noise: lower shock heim joints, and traction bar hiem joints.
This morning discovered the rear window or the upper brake light assembly is allowing water into the cab. One more thing to deal with.

Investigated and the 3rd brake light is not leaking. The rear window is also no leaking. The cab IS leaking.Morpheus wrote:Seen it once before iirc.Miner wrote: This morning discovered the rear window or the upper brake light assembly is allowing water into the cab. One more thing to deal with.

Where the cab sides meet the cab roof is the "gutter" and at the end of the cutter is a plastic cap. My jug-o-water tool tells me this is where the leak is, and its on both sides. I cannot find this plastic part in the manual or online parts catalog.
Hopefully its as simple as removing the cap, resealing the seam, and replacing the caps with new pieces. But to do that I need to find the pieces.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Clutch line sprung a leak Friday on the way to the girlfriends, so drove without a clutch to her place, and from there to her moms to work on it. Suspected a master cylinder at first, ordered one and went into town. Not knowing what a master cylinder looked like exactly, I ended up getting a slave. I bought new line and fittings in case, whch came in handy. I replaced the line from the master cylinder to a new coupler in the passenger side wheel well since both fittings for the towards and reward lines were rusted into the OEM coupler, but the hard line from the coupler that runs to the trans connects to a short distance of rubber line, which I can't undo because their fittings are rusted together. I tried to flare the OEM line with a new fittings, but after several unsuccessful tries, I couldn't get it to seal. I thought maybe I messed up the inner portions of the couple with improperly done double flares, but Chris (baja toy?) says that it's maybe the OEM line that's resisting since it has less flex the the aftermarket line.
Next step is to replace the rubber section with a brand new one, with that I'll replace the remainder of the OEM line and it should be good to go after that. I'll also replace the fluid in the trans while I'm at it and while the skid plate is off, especially after driving without a clutch, 4th gear didn't really enjoy that.

Installed my CB in the dash, hide the wiring for the scanner, moved the satellite radio receiver and installed the light panel in preparation for all the lights showing up next month.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Volvo V70 - Misfire and extremely ruff running with low power, suspected timing belt slip/failure. Reset timing (off) replaced belt (shot), which improved the condition but not the misfire. Compression check....OKAY! Replaced all plugs and the indicated cylinder coil...OKAY!
Volvo XC90 - Inspected, ordering rear suspension bushings, a wheel bearing, and brakes all around.
Nissan Titan - Ordered cab trim pieces....should be a couple days.
