Sold the Zuk to a guy that needed most of the parts. This was a faster way to get back on the trail and still have a second vehicle.

Nice ride Bender!
I just made the same move last week... but mine needs quite a bit of work before it will hit the trails!

To lift, or not to lift? What a stupid question...

Hey Bender - Been busy at work and haven't had a chance to get in touch with you. Sorry Buddy.
I'll get a hold of you and see what plans you have. Chew the poop. That sort of thing...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Truck is at the shop getting new front rotors put on, having the bearings re-packed and calipers serviced while they're in there. The rotors have been getting from bad to worse over time and I've finally had enough (plus the cheapie rotors were on sale now lol). Can't beat $50 for a pair of rotors after a sale price and a coupon.

Some arsehole hit my truck. Must have backed into it. There's a crease in the steel TJM and scuff marks on the corner. I want to see douche-bag's truck - must have been some force to crease the steel.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Oops. I was on the iPhone and loaded the pic straight up, forgetting about the whole photobucket thing. So here's a pic.
It's not like it's a lot of damage, it's just weird. You can see how the steel is pushed up towards the grill. In real life there's actually a fold in the steel. And the scuff on the front side of said bumper is sort of pushed into the paint. I only noticed it b/c I thought my alignment felt funny on the way home, and so - after grabbing a beer - I scoped out the tie rods and such when I got home. As I reached up to rest my beer on the bumper, I saw the wee issue.
Like I said, it's not a big deal. I have done worse to the truck on a trail. But I can't imagine how hard this guy must have hit the truck. I've run pretty hard into trees, rocks, the odd telephone pole here and there, and nothing really moves.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
To edit my post yesterday: had to replace the front right caliper too. She was all seized up, cause the rotor warpage. That sucked, but she's driving (more stopping) nice and smoooooooooth now, and not pulling, and not making noises.
Scott I'm betting it was a big utility type truck to do that, you know the ones that work on the phone poles and such? That much force on that bumper I bet the truck moved a little where ever it was parked.

I agree in a utility truck. But in a small parking lot in Fergus at 8 in the evening?

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Considering the height or your bumper, the area, and all that jazz, I would hazard to say that you got ding'd by another truck of some kind.Geoffrey wrote:I agree in a utility truck. But in a small parking lot in Fergus at 8 in the evening?

Possibly even by the hitch, although he'd have had to have back up all wonky to have smacked you that good.
Just imagine the damage had you not had a bumper.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Hey dudes!
Got some new tires. 36x13.5x15 Interco Iroks. A noticeable difference from the 35's (being that the 35's were worn down to 34)
There are WAY quieter on the road. No balancing issues, I use Magnum Balancing beads (11 OZ per tire) and they work AMAZINGLY. I'll post pics and video of them being put to work on our trip next weekend

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
That looks sweet!
Technically it was last weekend, replaced the front half shafts, rotors, pads, pins, etc. The cv boots were rotten and the pads were down to metal, kinda needed to be done
Taking apart th locking hubs, I tore the paper gaskets, so I decide to see if I could get replacements. Couldn't find a p/n, so I called Warn, and they are sending me spares of the o-rings and the paper gaskets for free!
Wishing I'd taken a picture of the new & old half-shafts side-by-side, the a/m part didn't have a proper grease seal on the outboard side of the shaft. Anyone know if the OEM ones just pop off, or is it possible to get replacement seals another way?

There's a Simpson's quote for that.

Flexed the X out yesterday and ran into some issues that I need to solve. Other than that I need to find a bigger object to flex out the X on!
