SUspension help
So I'm planning on getting a minor suspension lift (see link below), but before I do I wouldn't mind having an idea of what I'm getting into.
I have enough know how to follow directions, but have never worked on something like this before. Is it possible to do on my own? Or is there anyone in Ontario (Petawawa, Ottawa, Kingston or Toronto) that might be willing to give a guy a hand if he brings enough beer?
Oh, feel free to comment on my choices. I have an '11 PRO4x, looking for a 2" lift for minor off road.
Thanx all

Re: SUspension help
That too, but the more I look into it, the more I think I might do the PRG kit.
The only difference between the other 2 is the UCA. The PRG kit has the UCA plus it also has leaf packs as opposed to AAL. Plus I've never heard anything bad about PRG

Re: SUspension help
I have my PRG on order right now but remember it is still an AAL it's just two leafs instead of one. The only thing i've heard that could be negative about the nisstec is that sometimes you need to grind down the coil bucket like a half an inch so you don't pinch the boot on the ball joint after an alignment. Check out thenewx.org and xterranation.org there are guy's there that have both.

Re: SUspension help
I've actually been on thenewx.org longer than here. Love the site with all it's info. One of the reasons I'm opting for PRG over nisstec.
Thanx for the heads up on the leafs...Just quickly read and thought it was a pack. Still like the idea of 2 more leafs than 1.

PRG
I'm outside of Kingston, definitely willing to help but my schedule is very busy. I have installed the PRG mini-lift (spacers) and the performance lift (UCAs, coil-overs, leaf packs, shackles and piggy-back shocks), knowledge and tooling are not an issue.

SUspension help
I would say that PRG would be a good option. The many times I have spoke to Greg (Owner) he has been helpful. Now the contact issues that have been happening lately should be over as he has just moved into a new place. Sean check out my build page and my Titan Swap page on thenewx. I think I posted some stuff about my interaction with PRG. Good luck!

Re: SUspension help
Note - when ordering from PRG (really any US vendor) it makes more sense to ship to a receiver on the US boarder then to pay exorbitant brokerage fees.
My personal preference is the Corporate Center in Ogdensburg. Some people also use the UPS offices in any US boarder town.

Re: SUspension help
Someone on thenewx.org already pointed me in their direction. Just going to contact them and see how it all works. And according to their webiste, they are open Saturday mornings which is nice.Miner wrote:Note - when ordering from PRG (really any US vendor) it makes more sense to ship to a receiver on the US boarder then to pay exorbitant brokerage fees.

Re: SUspension help
Yes they are openwork a brief and busy few hours on Saturday. They are good to deal with but insist on American Cash. Call them, setup an account (name and contact number) and enjoy.

Called them the other day, couldn't believe how easy it was to set up an account. Can't wait to start using it.

Re: SUspension help
So here is the new suspension unless someone has legitimate advice against it.

Figure it will give me my 2" that I'm looking for and still be a decent ride while towing

Re: SUspension help
From what I've read that will be perfect for you.
If we were smart we would be group buying this stuff and sending one truck down to get it across the border. Then pay towards gas and coffee or something.

Re: SUspension help
Say the word. I'm planning on ordering it up within the month and picking it up in Ogdensburg. Already set up for that aspect. No difference between picking up one set or multiple sets. If enough interest, I'll bring the trailer too.
Can either ship again from this side, or people cool meet me on the Cdn side and pick up their stuff.

Re: SUspension help
I'm ordering, whatever I order, from wherever I order, July 20th. After the house sells. So we should talk if it works out.
