Put a new battery in the 94, and drove it around the block a few times to stretch it's legs. Doctor finally gave me the all clear to work on things again so the plan is to get her inspected after xmas.

The 95 is at hunt club nissan getting the seat belts replaced and an oil change. The last bit of pampering it will get. And wow oil changes at the dealer are cheap only 35 bucks. All the lube places here are 50 and that isn't even synthetic.

Put it up for sale. Too many vehicles and just not enough time for her anymore.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Changed out the last of the original u-joints, rear drive shaft at the diff. Started the jobs weeks ago but Napa speced the wrong part and I had to run with the old u-joint from the transfer case end. It turns out that all the joints are the same part (20053 @ Napa), which is nice as I can carry a spare.
Did the job in a friends garage to keep warm and use his press (something I need). I brought the Sportsman so after the job was finished we ran the snow covered back roads for a couple hours. Quite a few of the roads are not winter maintained and lead to cottages and hunt camps, made for a great run on a snowy day.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Last night I cleaned the ABS sensors because the ABS was coming on early and the ABS warning light was not on. Quick drive cause the ABS warning light to come on (the ring was dirty). So today I pulled the front rotor apart to get at the sensor ring. It had grease build up which is coming from a tear in the seal. No parts on hand so just cleaned it and buttoned it all up.
While putting it back together I discovered a seized slider bolt. Spent some time freeing it up and cleaning the sliders up.
ABS is now working properly but now I got some more things to do...it never ends and man I want a heated garage!
BTW anyone else hate those spring clips/clamps? I nearly lost one as it attempted to spring across the garage...lil bugger!

Backed it into the neighbours 2009 civic. Broke the mirror and dented/scraped the door a bit. Now I'm really gonna be broke.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
The guy didn't seem mad at all, maybe because I went and told him right away. I technically could have argued that he was illegally parked right behind my driveway (streets are tight in winter), but I was the one who flew out of my driveway in a rush.
I also bought a timing belt and cam seals for the 95 today, the one seal is leaking real bad and there is oil everywhere. I really didn't want to have to put money into it but after this little oops my 94 plates/e test/bodywork cash is gone.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Thanks for the suggestion, lookzcustoms. But unfortunatly I happen to hit one of those jerks who wants it done at their buddies shop. To the tune of 1600 dollars. Ill post up a pic later, they want to re skin the door for a tiny scrape. I am going to have to sell my 33s to pay for this.

Hard to tell from teh pics but that seems a bit steep. Maybe better to run through insruance if you have collision.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
It sucks man, but you are at his mercy here... Is $1600 a bit steep? Sure, but at the same time, you hit his car, so he gets to choose the repair. As was suggested, you may have to go through your insurance to cover it. That of course, is what we all get to pay insurance for though...adamzan wrote:Thanks for the suggestion, lookzcustoms. It's a tough lesson to learn, I know, I've been there - twice. I did it in my Civic, and then later in my brand new Spec V, not 4 months after having purchased it, so I feel your pain, I truly do.
It sucks, it really does, but you're doing the right thing here. I respect you for that.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Actually unless there was a police report done/filed the insurance won't touch it. The guy was illegally parked and is kind of at Adam's mercy / good faith now to pay for the damages. Just my otherwise different perspective.Jayman wrote: It sucks man, but you are at his mercy here... Is $1600 a bit steep? Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I will pay for the damages, as I've been hit n ran before (nothing serious but nonetheless). Just a real hard lesson learned like Jayman said. I would go through insurance but I have a spotless record. Thanks for the opinions, guys. I am going to try and see if he will get some more estimates as Miner suggested a place, and I know a couple others (one is family owned).
