Rim's

Okay, I have the 4 spoke Charcoal colour rim's,and they have some greasy,grimy hard to get off stuff.Does anyone know what I can use to get this crap off safely without ruining the wheel's?

Simple Green works good. CT has it.

Yeah - try the simple green max stuff. Beyond that, you can get some "rim cleaner" stuff from CT. If you read the side of the bottle, you'll see that some contain phosphoric acid. There's one that's in an orange bottle. Works great.

Beyond that, you're moving into CLR territory, which also has phosphoric acid in it - just more than what's in the rim cleaner bottle, but no more than 3% or so. Regardless, you ought to wear rubber gloves with this stuff, as it will burn your skin. It's really important to remember to rinse the acid off when done - it's more about neutralizing the acid, as it will keep working on your rim until the next rainy day.

Then repaint the rim.

WHAT!I still got the kung fu grip,for a old guy.Although maybe I should get my Joe Weider mags out again.

I think its Meguires its in a pink windex type spray bottle. Works amazing I think. Other than that, may I suggest join a gym and lay some elbow grease at her. Seriously though that road tar crap is a bit of a pain, good luck with that.

Meguiars aslso has a Blue coloured rim cleaner, you can get it at CT. Works pretty good.

Thanx for those suggestions guy's,and upon further review [with the help of the wifee] maybe the kung-fu grip is more like just the fu,but at one time I bench pressed over 200lbs. so I just might start doing some push ups to see if I still got it.Of course it will be pro-rated to almost 3 decades later,and hopefully I don't hurt myself.Then I will really need these products to work.

The orange bottle stuff cleans up anything from 15 year old break dust to grease even road tar. The stuff works great. Bought mine at parts source
