Just bought a new yellow top battery but
it seems I am getting alight hesitation when I start the engine, not all the time but like in the morning. I had it put in on Friday and noticed something on Sunday when I started it. Then when Micheal got home this evening he mentioned it too. Its only a slight hesitation maybe 1 second and then it starts. What do you think it could be...I would hate to have to take it back. Bought it at Costcos with my sisterinlaws pass and it would be a major hassle if it has to go back.

Check that both terminals are tight on the battery. A loose connection can cause the symptoms you're describing.

Re: Just bought a new yellow top battery but
Well it seems I did not correctly state what its doing....it not starting at all kind of makes of eeeehhhhhh sound and then shut it off and on the next try it starts no problem. It does not seem to matter whether the truck engine is cold. Micheal started it this morning, no problem as he wanted me to hear this noise that I don't seem to recall hearing when "I" start the truck and it started fine. So he turns it off and a few minutes later goes to leave and it won't start, turn it off, try again starts no problem.

did you wait for the glow plugs to warm up.......
before returning the battery, take it to CT where they can check the battery for free. If there's a fault, you can return it. If it's not the battery...then off to BNN

Re: Just bought a new yellow top battery but
Here is what I would do:
Disconnect the battery.
Take some fine sand paper to the posts. There might be a grease/wax coating from the factory. Rub with a free spirit . Insure that the cable harnesses are nice and clean. Give them a rub and a spray, too.
Spray with electrical cleaner (found in small aerosol can at crappy tire.) Check the ground wire that runs from the negative terminal to the the engine block. Does it look OK? Maybe it got a little chuffed when the old battery was removed. It should be nice and clean. Clean as necessary.
Reattach the cables to the battery. Start the truck. Make sure all is good. Stand back, have a beer and admire your work.
Turn the truck off and spray the contacts with fluid film. Finish beer.
Hope this helps a little.

So, it NEVER did this before the new battery? If that is the case, it is strange...

Re: Just bought a new yellow top battery but
Would it be caused by hooking the cables on the battery backwards? this sounds really weird to me.
