Why the bedliner coat?

Picked up some used skid plates for the X today. Thinking about getting them painted before install. Bedliner? POR15? other? What did you use/suggest?

The OEM Bilstein's on my Jimmys have been fantastic, very reliable and durable. I had 5000s on my old Jimmy they were decent, but I was glad I got a deal to get them as they were not notably different than the OE other than newer.

Installed a CB and SWR'd it today, the firestickIIs with the adjustable tip are nice for tuning. Also removed the mudflaps.

It's the 2000s, I would thought we'd have eradicated hood prop rods by now. I'd like to delete the one on our Xterra.
