Re: NEW TIRE: BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A® KO2

The KO1 was a great snow tire for the first half of its tread life, or the depth of the shallow sipping. My shallow sipes/siping/whatever are/is gone now. It was only one cut per tread block, but it must have been an important factor in maintaining traction in slippery conditions. It's good to see ...

Re: NEW TIRE: BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A® KO2

Yep! ...the same kind of stuff I found when I looked. It's a shame that "% improvement over similar all-season tires" or something like that isn't mentioned. We can see differences in the videos, but what is the cut-off? How much better do you have to be, minimum, to qualify for the mounta...

Re: NEW TIRE: BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A® KO2

That's the kind of stuff I'm wondering about too. I wish they'd just openly share the information. Them not sharing makes me wonder what they're hiding. I got by on my MTs the past few winters, but last winter in particular I decided it wouldn't be safe enough (whatever enough means) for me to keep ...

Re: NEW TIRE: BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A® KO2

I corresponded a bit with an automotive journalist about tires and winter designations (and about the KO1 :P ) a number of years ago. From what he seemed unwilling to be clear about, it sounds like the KO1 might have been grandfathered onto the list, or that something else is/was going on. There are...

The doors - windows are under powered, seals allow wind to move them more than any other vehicle I've ever been in.

...that's the one that might not be on everyone else's Top 10 list.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?

Bought Rev's winter tires (w/rims) today.

The Toyo MTs were okay for the first few winters, but now that there is not much tread left, I couldn't risk it again; last winter was bad/lucky enough.

Driver front hub/bearing assembly ... again. (this is my second replacement in 6.5 years / 180 000 km)

How often should these be replaced?

What kind of bumper? I know I was slack and didn't post pics of mine installed, but you've seen the Staang's Fab rear bumper in person - did you go local?

Been seeing a black newer xterra on Davis Drive then heading north on 48 then east on harold rd. Notice he has a black CB whip on the back with small CNTC sticker on the bottom left corner of his back window. I passed you last night when you were eating a apple. LOL Sounds like me. Heck, it must be...

Welcome from Uxbridge (Durham Region).

There should be a few of us getting together in the next few weeks.

...just working out the details for AW myself. I think I have missed 2 or 3 years in a row - far too many.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?

A friend (the mechaincal guy) and I (the learning guy) tried to replace upper and lower ball joints and tie-rod ends today. It went pretty well except for Canadian Tire - their computer doesn't belive in passenger-side tie-rod ends. Three times they got the wrong thing. There does seem to be a compu...

Glad to hear you made it out (better off for it?). A perfect storm of circumstances (work, health, ball joints, tierod ends) kept me from, at least, offering you my body wait a second this isn't sounding right, what I mean is that I live not even 2 hours away and should have been there to help, but ...

Re: Terrano Snorkel and Volant Intake

Looks great ... very clean.

I know Drew once said that the down side of getting his snorkel was all the attention it attracted. This one just blends right in.
I like the look of the top of it - clean and protected.
