Re: What did you do to your rig today?
oil, anti-seize, grease, ...all lubricants. They vary slightly in CoF but relative to dry they'd be in the same ballpark.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Ya, you got it right. as much as 90% of the applied torque is lost due to friction/debris. If it were easy, we would never mention torque but rather clamping force. Some torque specs I have seen instead will say seat and then turn 5/6 of a turn or similar. I have seen 30% used for reduction to lubri...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Also inspect the boot or rubber seal around the caliper piston. I have had it happen where heat (over heating from dragging pads) cooked this seal causing the piston to not move easily and wearing out new pads prematurely. I too recommend replacing the rear flex lines, especially if one side is worn...

Re: Starting problems
Ya sounds like your battery had a dead short inside or close to it. I use this over the winter on my classic cars, bike, lawn tractor, and travel trailer batteries: https://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/12v-automatic-float-charger/A-p8729188e It often goes on sale for half price. As noted, have to ...

Re: Check this out
Very interesting, a fast way to get a garage set up. Just need to prep a site and get the oversize transport permits and hire it moved. I think it would need to be cheaper to justify for me. I could build a nice garage myself for $40k I think.

Do you mean a body lift? Or are you only meaning a suspension lift?

Re: Drivers power window slow in the cold
I'll hazard a guess - when cold, the rubber weather-stripping is harder and therefore the friction against the window is different. You'll need to determine the correct bias of the glass position before tightening.

Re: Day/Night auto headlamp setting/adjustment?
I haven't but it sounds like a failing sensor. There is a mod somewhere I have seen where you can you just a toggle switch in so you can use the headlight switch manually.

Re: Spring!
If I were in your shoes I’d mod my rig to sleep in it and be done with it. Make a bed on a draw system. The most I might do would be to get a mini enclosed utility trailer just to increase gear hauling for convenient storage so you don’t have to wheel chocked to the roof. Now if you want to wheel/c...

Re: Spring!
I hear that!! Had a trailer for 10 years, not looking back lol. Maybe if it was just me (and a budget to really gear up well) but with the family I want the glamping style; don't need my vacation to be work too. I've gone back and forth on getting a trailer, but I like keeping my footprint small an...
