Re: P1320

You rock his sir. When this problem began I immediately thought of your issues. I figured they are likely the same. Like your starting problem, mine tends to be more when it is wet out. Minus 20 - no issue. So it is temp variable. I have had no issues this week. I guess I need a new dizzy. Again tha...

Re: P1320

Thanks all. With the cap replacement I didn't see any red dust. I should probably be safe and change the plugs out, just to nix that possibility (and I have new plugs kicking around.) Then, if all remains the same, I think I can say that I am about 95% sure it's the ICM in the dizzy, which is intern...

P1320

Question for all you: Truck is throwing an intermittent P1320 code, which I gather is the primary ignition coil. Occasionally, the truck has a hard time starting, and once in a blue moon it will balk when driving. Just for a split second, and then all is fine again. No misfire codes. On a 2000 Xterr...

Re: Rad fluid leak

I think I'll just take it to Milton Nissan in January to get it done. It's cold now.

Re: Rad fluid leak

Alright. Found it. Lower intake manifold gasket. It's leaking when the truck is cold, then it stops when the parts warm up and seal, which makes it tough to find as you might imagine.

Re: Extreme trail at aw 2016

I say go for it. The club is opening up as the old X's retire. And I see a lot of possibility to keep bringing in the fun. You know what the guys are like here. We will help rebuild a truck and get it home. Or help out it in a trailer. I guess the only thing real thing is, and you already know, is w...

Re: Rad fluid leak

Adam - Oh, that hose! No, it ain't that one. By dizzy by-pass I was thinking something under it, up closer to the intake manifold.

This one has me stumped.

Re: Rad fluid leak

Update. I pulled the skid plates and had a better look. It's not the water pump. Fluid is coming down from the top. It pools under the dizzy and makes its way over the oil filter. So. Either the bypass for dizzy (which I can't seem to see) or one of those hoses under the intake manifold. Sent from m...

Re: Winter prep for your rig?

Christ. The list has been long. Replaced windshield. Undercoated the truck with bed liner. Took out the Royal Purple as it's sh!t in the truck. Put the sliders back on. Still not quite done with that little endeavour. Did a swap of the recovery gear for more winter friendly gear. Made sure I had had...

Re: Rad fluid leak

Seems to be leaking out the bottom of the timing belt cover. So probably the weep hole in the water pump or a bypass under that cover. Shouldn't harm anything if I leave it alone. Not taking the front of the engine off to fix a little drop off rad fluid.

Cleaned the engine tonight to try and pinpoint the leak. It's weird.

Rad fluid leak

OK. Got a rad fluid leak. It's dripping out over the arm of the oil filter. I cannot figure out where it is coming from.

The fluid is clear and has no oil in it. Just dripping out.

Any ideas?

Fingers Still Crossed for Titan Diesel

I found Miner's comments all really cool when it came to gross weight and curb weight. A couple years back when I had three teen boys, myself and Jennifer in the truck for a week of camping, plus a trailer full of gear, I did the math and found I had 25 pounds to spare. That's not a lot of room. Test...

Re: Seat belts

OK. That's the info I wanted Adam. I've cleaned the winders on other belts but this one (rear passenger) is a bugger. I suspect belts are warrantied so folks don't just pull the tension spring out. Or just stop using it. It's a first line of defence in an accident. So let people have them for free. ...

Seat belts

Hey folks, Small issues - the rear seat belt pre-tensioner no longer is reliable. It usually decides to stay in the jammed position, so it won't release. From what I understand, many companies have a life-time warranty on the hardware of seat belts (Honda does this). Is this true with Nissan as well...
