Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I finally got the chance last week to install my manual hubs. As it seems with every modification or upgrade on my truck, it was more born out of necessity then anything else. I was trying to park my truck backwards on a slight wet, slipper slope, and I needed 4x4 to actually get into the right spot...

Re: Master Cylinder resovoir cap open or close?
I've always opened it, and I've had issues where I've filled it with low pads, and then compressed the caliper, making a big mess in my engine bay.

Yup, good times figuring all that stuff out. http://www.cntc.ca/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=4531&hilit=drop+hitch Short story version, I ended up purchasing a custom made hitch that gave me almost the correct drop that I was looking for to make my trailer level. I needed 14", and the dr...

Re: Rock Hard Fabs XTerra Sliders
Even with the Shrock sliders, people have found that they've had difficulty getting the mounting holes to line up with the holes on the frame. The sliders that I have were made by Bender (member who doesn't do fab anymore), and they were done ON an Xterra in his driveway, with me there while the wel...

Although, I've always wanted a ScanGauge or something similar so that I could monitor things like that.

Re: Plano lockable bins @ Walmart
I've been using Rubbermade Action packers for stuff in the truck, but I actually find them a little flimsy... These look considerably more sturdy, but looks can be deceiving. I'll have to check them out the next time I'm @ "Wally's World of everything you can think of, and a bunch of crap that ...

True. I look forward to seeing that FB cover and see how you plan on mounting it, should be a nice project. Negligible mileage, wow, thats great aerodynamics then, must be the deflector doin its thing. (btw, whats decent mileage for your X?) nice hilift mount! Boils down to what works for you in th...

Yeah, I kept reading the thread hoping that someone would be able to or know how to help, but I think it's out of our realm of expertise.
I know that I have no idea how to do that kind of thing, so you're about 55 steps ahead of where I would be with that!

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Sweet, fab work on the new cross member looks good. I'd be adjusting the u-bolt length on the drivers side. I can't remember now why we didn't cut that side down when we installed them in my driveway. We possibly ran out of time or something, I can't remember. Fab looks good Michel, I like! :thumbu...

He's right Michel, there are nuts on the opposite side of the frame rail that you need to get a wrench on.adamzan wrote:Michel I believe the bolt heads are on the other side of the frame. If its like my wd21. ( it should be the same.) Take off the skid and you will see.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Totta looks good. Big Fan of the Trail Grapplers. How were they to balacne? Pulled the drivers side exhaust manifold last night. I figure the dealer over torqued every manifold nut on that side, all but one took a 3' pipe on a 20" 1/2" ratchet, and all but two required extractors. :stickw...

Re: This is getting REALLY old FAST
Michel, how are they going to modify the lower shock mount on the skidder to account for the different shock angle?
Just curious... Stock set up allows for front to back angling, whereas this set up will require the shock to be mounted with side to side angling.
