Re: What did you do to your rig today?

Traded it. We traded the '05 XC90 on a '16 Cherokee Trailhawk. My bride is happy to have a new SUV, and although it as not as luxury oriented as a Volvo the capabilities and comforts are quite good. I don't know if the Trailhawk is capabile enough to make "Rig" status, but I can see us ex...

Re: Any members local to Midland area?

Maybe we should do a coffee meet in Barrie some time soon. We have a member in Midland (I'm pretty sure "Rev" still lives there) and a member in the Bradford area as well as "Blondie" and I in Everett. Thoughts about a few of us meeting up in Barrie?

We came home through the States and camped in Yellowstone National Park. Fabulous spot - would love to go back there.

Re: New project - brainstorming time

Mike, you seem to have a well thought out (and very cool) plan. You don't see many Armadas on the trail - always nice to see something different! Length shouldn't be much of a problem if the wheelbase is only a little longer than an Xterra. Break-over angle could be a concern but with a lift and lar...

Re: Sad News

Sorry to hear that, Scott. Mine is getting pretty tough as well. Hoping to get a couple more years out of it. I certainly know how you feel.

Further to Wayne's comment about the vultures, are you parting it out?

Re: Official *DEALS* thread

Using a snatch block effectively doubles the pulling power of the winch so if you had a snatch block an 8,000 lb winch should be enough if you really want that particular winch...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?

Boosted battery, added a litre of oil, pumped up the tires and backed it out of the garage for the first time since October. Nice drive, if a little drafty. Took it to a mechanic friend to have it checked over. Probably needs a new main seal, oil pan and maybe a clutch. The old rig is going to need ...

Xterra Temp Gauge

A friend of mine who has an Xterra asked if I could help with an issue she is having with her truck. I am going to suggest she join the CNTC but in the meantime, here is her issue... "My truck needs a temperature gauge and my mechanic hasn't found one in months! There is apparently a shortage f...

Re: Canada roof top tents! check it out!

Very cool! I really like the picture at http://rooftoptent.webs.com/ of the tent mounted on a military trailer. Something like that would work really well with my Jeep. It would be cool to be able to leave the trailer/tent at camp when running trails. Or could take the trailer along on easier trails...

@ Andres, What is the Big Chute Hydro trail like? I assume it is accessed from Big Chute Road north of Waubashene. Would love to try it next year!

Good work, Luke! The trail you lead on the Sunday of AW, was that Shoe Lake or Shoe Lace?

 Funny, this thread doesn't seem to be about the LHD Safari anymore!

@ Miner - too funny! It has the 4.3 litre. As per Ron, I "upgraded" from a Chevy Impala to a Chevy Blazer ZR2. Still have the Jeep for serious offroad fun!

Re: LHD safari for sale, diesel!

Very cool! I saw this shortly before you posted the link. Always looking for cool diesel Toyotas and Nissans. I was tempted but I was apprehensive to purchase without seeing and driving it. Don't have the time to go to BC to look at a truck. Actually just bought a truck like Ron's (Bow_Tied) so I wo...

Re: Member Spotting

Saw "Rev" pulling out of the Timmies parking lot onto King Street in Midland this morning around 10:45. You wouldn't have noticed me driving by because I was driving my stealth car (gray Chev Impala). Invisible to every-one but the police. :)
