Re: Drivers power window slow in the cold

Mine have always been like that :-(
No amount of silicone has helped me.
I think my motors are just weak. (Or there's an electrical thing that I can't be bothered to get into.)

Don't know if I'm allowed to post links unfortunately. Maybe in PM if interested?
I doubt it would be worth it overall. Thanks anyway.

Re: Spacers vs Coilovers ... or just springs?

FYI

Upgrading to camber bolts on a new truck is no problem.

On an 8-year old truck you often have to cut off and replace the LCAs to do it - (I'm there now :-(

Re: Roof top tent

Sounds about right for those bags, I think I saw on the last DA verification that they are in excess of 4 digits. The downside is all the openings in them, which COULD be a plus as you can piss without getting out of your bag.... I was in a quinzhee a couple of years ago and tried; I had to get ver...

If you start early enough anthing can be done in a day lol.. That reminds me of some of Steven Wright's stuff ...everywhere is walking distance, if you've got the time. ... cross-country skiing is a great sport, if you live in a small country. and my favourite ...(blah, blah, childhood, blah) ... b...

Re: Noobie from Ontario

General Grabber AT2s are common enough tires that you should be able to pick one up used to stash under your truck to (probably) never use. As for the size of your current spare, if you have to use it, the computer might object and deprive you all the nannies, but I don't see it being worse than tha...

Re: 2nd Gen Hub/Bearing Replacement

The torque spec is 101 lb.ft; I think I'm good there. I admit, I didn't use a torque wrench, but it takes lots of leverage or lots of effort to go beyond that. I didn't "Give'r" as they say. Thanks for the idea though. How long was your ratchet or johnson-bar? You might be surprised at ho...

Re: 2nd Gen Hub/Bearing Replacement

I am not sure how these assemble - large nut on the end of the CV axle? If so, over torqueing could cause premature failure. The torque spec is 101 lb.ft; I think I'm good there. I admit, I didn't use a torque wrench, but it takes lots of leverage or lots of effort to go beyond that. I didn't "...

Re: 2nd Gen Hub/Bearing Replacement

Moog is warrantied for 3 years. I'll be dealing with that this time. (Going through receipts now.)

Is Moog junk?

Is there any other variable also worth considering?

2nd Gen Hub/Bearing Replacement

Today, I replaced one of those wonderful "sealed, maintenance free" hub-bearing assemblies for the fourth time (Dec. 2007 - Apr. 2015 = 7y 4mo). Each side has had it's original and then two others. Has anyone else experienced this failure rate? Is there something I might be doing w...

Guys, I screwed up. I'm sorry.

I simply forgot to put it on my calendar and then forgot about it.

(The box on the calendar is still completely blank; I think I was wasting my life in front of the idiot box when I should have been at the meet.)

I grew up in Ottawa. Keep me in the loop. I could combine a wheeling trip and a check-in with the family!
I could travel on Friday night, camp, and be ready to go! (Travel back on Sunday.)
.
(I guess it depends upon exactly where the wheeling takes place, but keep me in the loop.)

Re: Noobie from Ontario

That weekend works. I'm off my course on the 17th, so it's perfect. Also, hopefully by then, mother nature will make up her damn mind about what season she wants it to be :) How does April 18/19 sound for everyone? Any preference Saturday /Sunday or time? I'm easy and can do what works best for you...
