Re: Winch Wiring: Breakers?

Same with my MileMarker 9.5k - direct to the Red-Top batt.
It's got a good kill switch right on the solenoid, so I couldn't justify complicating things (like I normally do).

Re: Member Spotting

Spotted Sgt B on carling ave just before 4 pm today. Was not driving the pathfinder (just like every other time I see a member) Yep - twas doubtlessly I. Too much driving to Kanata for work these days... Drove behind a sweet lookin', totally decked-out silver X-SC, with about 5 inches of lift (on 3...

Re: Farewell

Best of luck Lad, stay safe and keep your lights off. We'll see you upon your return! Well put, Eric! PM me if your DAG takes you through Ottawa. Beer's on me. Keep your head down, and your chin up. We're honoured to call you one of our own. (I say that as a Canadian, and a club member). Militi Suc...

Re: HAPPY B-DAY SGT_B!

Thanks, everyone - and yes we have, Kevin - you were reffing a lacrosse game in Ottawa during my pre-fatherhood days.
You put out an open invitation for pints and true to form, I showed up.

(and don't try it next year - that'll be the big four-oh, and I may not be so spry...) hmmm... now, how can I destroy this thread, like a good CNTC'er... I know - I'll share an unrelated joke! Buddy is walking down the street &...

Re: Oh no, another (canned ham) trailer Part 2!

Probably easier to extend the axles and run the wheels exterior. Not a bad idea for anti-roll-over stability, but would that really be easier? Just pop the U-Bolts off, put the axle under the springs, and put the U-bolts back on, man! On a truck, I'd agree, since you've got brakes and cables and di...

Eric gots parts? Woohoo! But you can't do it this weekend... I'm outta town. :-( Could be ready to help next weekend though! What say you? Weather this weekend is supposed to suck anyways, however working in Eric's garage would solve that. :teeth: Yeah, but with all the crazy racks and stuff he's g...

Re: Rack build is on the way

Thanks for the compliments! ... but in reality it doesn't bend evenly (45deg bend on one side doesn't mean a 45deg bend on the other side), it rolls the tube as it bends it so that you have to pay attention as you are bending so that you can get two bends on a single piece in the same plane, it cru...

Re: Rack build is on the way

Questions for you, since I've often imagined building something similar: - can you estimate your cost and how many hours did it take? - for those who like attaching a ski bullet / cargo pod on the roof, have you figured out any manner of attaching moveable cross-members to the top of the rack, simil...

Re: Rack build is on the way

Looks fantastic! Wow - a lotta work went into that puppy... Great job. What'd you think of the PowerFist Pipe Bender? I remember seeing it at PA and thinking it'd be good if you had to put a simple, single arc in a pipe, but saw no end of headaches if you were trying to do the kinda work you're doin...
